Call me an angry person, or a ‘hater’ but someone needs to talk about all the shit that went down during the LSAs. I read reviews, saw Insta posts, read blog entries and everyone has biased, suger-coated opinions of how they loved everyone and everything that happened on stage. Farhan Saeed won song of the year award. Is he still singing? He has a new song? Where is it? Has anyone seen it? Zoe Viccaji won the best album of the year? That must have been easy considering that’s the only album that came out this year.
But seriously, I’m tired of reading one sided versions. The people need the truth! I will give them the truth. And the truth is that LSA was actually AZN- Ali Zafar Night. We are surprised they didn’t give him the lifetime achievement award also. Both of them. (Mussarat Misbah won one of them. These awards are quite random, as you may notice.)
But we can’t get over this simple fact: Ali Zafar is considered a rockstar, which he may be (Although I personally feel that he cannot hit a few notes, resulting in him sounding quite baysura) but there were four performances that were all ‘tributes’ to him. Farhan Saeed was dancing to Ali Zafar’s ‘Channo’. Yes you read that right. The man who won ‘Best Song of the Year’ was dancing to someone else’s song. Anywhere in the world, this will be considered insane if one singer was performing to another singer’s song. Imagine Rihanna dancing to Beyone’s ‘Single Ladies’ and then you might understand how this only happens in Pakistan. Or Priyanka Chopra dancing to ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ on stage.
Then we saw the following picture on Tribune:
This is the LSA afterparty. Now, we don’t want to be mean and comment on what a lame as fuck party this looks (which it does) but why did these pictures make their way on Tribune? This is the kind of party you do in PRIVATE.
